Image-Guided and Adaptive Radiation Therapy (hybrid)

Curriculum Image-Guided and Adaptive Radiation Therapy

This teaching unit is divided into five hybrid (online/onsite) sessions. The first four sessions will focus on the clinical use of IGART, where within each meeting we will focus on a different body part. After the first four sessions, the central part of the IGART-module takes place: the Hands-On Course.

This is an intensive week, in which various departments are visited. Interactive teaching sessions, focused on practical clinical situations, are an important part of the hands-on module and various experts from renowned RT departments will share their experience in IGRT. Clinical experts will discuss the different IGART-approaches for various clinical sites, including head-and-neck, lung, breast, and prostate cancer treatments. The core parts of the module are practical hands-on sessions for the participants and demonstrations by experienced users. Participants will use and interpret various IGART-systems and workflows, including 4D motion management techniques, and online adaptive strategies like MRlinac and Ethos. For the Hands-On Course participant have to travel to the Netherlands (Haarlem) to participate in the one-week hands-on module (can also be followed standalone).

After the HOC week, the fifth and final meeting will take place. This meeting is dedicated to a processing assignment following up on the IGART-HOC, in which various IGART-solutions (kV-CBCT, Stereoscopic and triggered imaging, CyberKnife, Ethos, Gammaknife, MRI accelerator, Viewray, in-room CT on rails) will be discussed.

Teams is used for the hybrid sessions.
