This text explores the role of education during of a time of transition from the Holocene, a stable epoch benevolent to humanity’s development, to the Anthropocene, an epoch that is unpredictable and very possibly hostile. The aim of this text is to explore the literature on the potential of ‘embodied learning’, or learning situated throughout the physical body, and its potential to activate environmental hope and agency amongst students. The review concludes by saying that by designing and sharing inspiring embodied learning practices one can generate awareness, engagement, curiosity and tap into critical, intuitive and creative wisdom. Most excitingly, that embodied learning also has the power to help us rediscover a deep sense of joy in belonging to such a rich, complex and interdependent eco-system.
