You can enrol in a higher professional education (HBO) programme if you obtained a vwo-, havo- or mbo-4 diploma (or an equivalent qualification). After enrolling in Studielink, you’ll complete the Study Check to make sure you’ve chosen the degree programme that’s right for you. You can start the programme with the following qualifications:
International Baccalaureate
High school diploma
General Certificate of Secondary Education
Abitur or Fachhochschulreife
Equivalent international diploma
Havo-diploma
Vwo-diploma
Mbo-diploma level 4
Propedeuse (hbo or university)
Diploma without the right profile
IELTS: 6.0 or higher
TOEFL internet-based: overall score of 80
Cambridge certificate: CEA, CPE or FCE overall score C (169-172)
Havo/vwo: pass for English
You have a senior general secondary education (HAVO) diploma or pre-university education (VWO) diploma with a different profile or combination of courses, or you have a first-year diploma or Bachelor’s degree from a university of applied sciences (HBO) or research university (WO) in a subject that is not related to this degree programme. In this case, you’ll have to make up for your academic deficit. You can demonstrate this by passing a deficiency test before you begin the programme.

In general, you can start the programme if your diploma is comparable to a Dutch HAVO, VWO or MBO-4 diploma. Once you have applied, Inholland University of Applied Sciences will evaluate your diploma. If the decision is negative and you are 21 or older, you can show that you are equipped to enrol in the programme by taking the entrance examination.
If you have earned a diploma outside the Netherlands and would like to study at Inholland, you are of course welcome to join us. To be eligible for enrolment, your diploma must be equivalent to a Dutch senior general secondary education (HAVO) diploma, pre-university education (VWO) diploma or level 4 senior secondary vocational education (MBO-4) diploma. In order to attend classes, you must also have sufficient listening, speaking and writing skills in Dutch. Only then will you get the most out of your studies at Inholland. Students who have completed their prior education abroad must therefore demonstrate Dutch language proficiency at B2 level (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). This can be done by obtaining an NT2 (Dutch as a Second Language) Programme II certificate (reading, writing, speaking and listening components). You can take the NT2 exam via DUO.
If so, then sign up for one of our short preparatory courses. These courses will greatly increase your chances of passing the entrance examination or deficiency test. You can also take a course if you’d like further training or want to brush up your knowledge on a particular subject.
