You'll be joining the Information Technology program as a Lecturer and Learning Coach, specializing in Software Development and Data & AI. Our team of 25 internationally oriented colleagues brings diverse expertise in software development, interaction design, networking, AI, communication, and research. Together, we provide a dynamic blend of theory and hands-on learning for over 450 students.


Our graduates go on to careers as software developers, AI engineers, cloud engineers, and cybersecurity specialists. Around 45% of our students come from international backgrounds, and English is our primary language of instruction. With your knowledge, creativity, and enthusiasm, you'll be the kind of lecturer students remember for years to come.

Your Responsibilities

As a lecturer and coach, you will:

  • Deliver engaging lectures and learning activities in Software Development and Data Science, using interactive and student-centered teaching methods.
  • Teach both Dutch and international students in English.
  • Share your knowledge of agile methodologies, programming principles, and data-related tools and techniques.
  • Coordinate our annual Data & AI minor, while also contributing to related subjects such as programming, app development, cloud computing, or cybersecurity.
  • Guide students through real-world business assignments, internships, and graduation projects.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to continuously develop and innovate the curriculum, keeping pace with industry trends and educational advancements.
  • Leverage your professional network and insights to enhance the learning experience.

Job Requirements

We look forward to read more about your experience:

You’re an IT professional with a strong interest in education, or an established lecturer in Data Science & AI.

  • You have knowledge of multiple frontend and backend programming languages.
  • You have experience in relevant areas within IT, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, GenAI, and preferably Cloud Computing, or Cybersecurity.
  • You preferably hold a Master’s degree.
  • You have a teaching qualification (or are willing to obtain one).
  • You thrive in a collaborative team and actively contribute to curriculum development.
  • You communicate effectively in English, and ideally, you also speak Dutch or are open to learning.
  • Living and eligible to work in the Netherlands.

No teaching qualification? No problem!

To coach students you need the Basic Teaching Competency (BDB) qualification. If you have not obtained yet this qualification, we will provide you with a course at our expense for 6 to 12 months after your first year. We expect you to continue to develop in our learning organization afterwards. You dare to look critically at yourself and change your opinion. You seek the connection with your colleagues and you show who you are. You try out new things in developing your own skills and follow your heart. That makes you a role model for your students and your colleagues.



Wat bieden wij

What do we offer you as a new colleague

  • This contract is initially for 18 months, followed by the view on a permanent contract. (D3 in the CLA). 
  • A salary of at least €4.535,76 with a maximum of €6.359,47 gross per month, scale 11, for full-time employment. Your grading depends on your relevant (work) experience and education.
  • A working week of 40 hours, but know that everything from 32 hours per week is possible.
  • An easily accessible workplace in Haarlem. All travel expenses incurred by public transport will be reimbursed 100%. You shall receive a business card for public transport. If you opt for your own transport, know that you will be reimbursed to a limited extent.
  • A payment of an 8% holiday allowance in May.
  • A payment of an end-of-year payment of 8.3% in December.
  • A generous leave scheme in which you can make your own choices. For example: with a full-time employment contract and a chosen working week variant of 40 hours per week, you have 428 hours of annual leave. This is 53.5 vacation days. Our leave scheme includes the mandatory days off and national and recognized public holidays.
  • A homework allowance of €3,40 per day worked from home of at least 4 hours and an additional internet allowance of €10 per month.
  • An attractive pension scheme with ABP (General Pension Fund for Public Employees).
  • You will receive sufficient facilities for professional and personal development from us. We think it is important that you are always willing to learn. Learning = daring is central to us.
  • An insurance policy against partial incapacity for work will be taken out for you, which will be paid in full by us, Inholland University of Applied Sciences.

The Domain Technology, Design and Information Science offers today's students and tomorrow's society a knowledge institution for students and business by providing up-to-date education for the high-quality performance of technical positions in business. We are distinctive because of our contribution to a healthy, sustainable and creative society. The changes in society in this area are guiding our education and research. Our approach is personal and direct, where diversity is our strength. The Information Technology program offers a well-structured, challenging and solid education. We operate in a learning environment in which students are given the confidence to experiment and practice on solving business issues. The program has a Dutch program and an English program. These programs are separated in the first 2 years of study. These programs are integrated in the third and fourth year and the language of instruction is English.
